Transformation of the Day: Carlisha lost 51 pounds. She was bullied as a child and beat herself up about her appearance. Exercise and nutrition allowed her to transform and turn her tears into results. Check out what she shared with us about her journey.
At the age of 4, I was already overweight. I was bullied a lot when I was younger and it kept happening throughout elementary and high school. I beat myself up a lot, because I didn’t like my appearance. I stopped crying and I started turning my tears into sweat. I’m 18 years old now. 236 pounds was my MAX weight. Now, I weigh 185 pounds. My goal weight is 165 pounds.
What was your motivation?
My motivation was not being happy with myself. When I realized I’d reached my biggest size, I got even more upset with myself.
What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
I wanted to give up numerous of times during this journey. I got inspired when I started getting compliments from people who knew me before I lost weight. I also started to fit into clothes that I brought that were too little before. Now, those clothes are too big.
How did you change your eating habits?
Changing my eating habits was one of the hardest choices I had to make. To this day, it’s still hard. As time went by, I noticed that I was losing more weight, and losing it a lot faster when I was eating healthy compared to when I was eating whatever I wanted.
I stopped eating sweets and fried food. I stopped eating out, eating red meat and eating bread. I started easting more fruits, nuts, yogurt and baked fish chicken and turkey. I also ate lots of greens and drank plenty of water. I’ve never used any plan or joined any diet program. I did it all by myself.
What did your workout routines look like?
My workout routine consists of squats, push ups, running, sit ups and Keaira Lashae workouts on YouTube. I workout for 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes, 3-4 days a week.
