Transformation of the Day: Tamara lost 85 pounds. Pre-diabetes and a lack of energy didn’t stop her. She worked hard in the gym, counted calories and ate low carb meals to get results. Check out what she shared with us about her journey.
10 months of hard work and dedication. I am not where I want to be, but I am getting better each day. I’ve lost more than 80 pounds and 57 inches.
What motivated you to change?
My motivation came from wanting to be more able to get around with my daughters. I had no energy to do anything. I also realized that my 12 year old daughter was taking on my bad habits and was not as active as I wanted her to be. Being pre-diabetic was also a motivation.
How did you change your eating habits?
I completely cut out red meat and pork. I went on a 1200 calorie diet that was high in protein, low in fat and low in carbs.
What did you do in terms of exercise?
I workout 4-6 days a week and sometimes I workout twice a day. I do strength training and 45 minute sessions of cardio and circuit training.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 247 pounds and my current weight is 162 pounds. My height is 5 feet, 0 inches. I haven’t had any kind of surgery, but I will consider plastic surgery if I have saggy skin once I get to my goal.
When did you start your journey?
I started my journey on July 20, 2016.
What advice would you share with people who want to lose weight?
My advice would be that you have to be your own motivation. You have to want to be healthy and active more then you want anything else. No one can get you there, but you. Consistency is key.
