Transformation of the Day: Kristy lost 50 pounds. Before starting her weight release journey in January, she was pre-diabetic, taking three blood pressure medications and feeling miserable. She took steps to change her eating habits and exercise regularly, but learning to love herself was the most important part of her journey.
What was your motivation?
My health was a huge motivation, I was pre-diabetic, taking 3 blood pressure medications and felt miserable. I also had a broken heart and had been literally EATING my misery. When I realized that I had lost my “me” power, I found my motivation!
What inspired you when you wanted to give up!
Every time I saw a picture of myself and I looked better. Also, when I was able to walk further and further, that filled my DETERMINATION battery up.
How did you change your eating habits?
I was mindful the time of the day that I ate. I drank water, water and more water! I also Pre-planned my meals the best I could. I watched my sugar intake, gave up my love affair with Pepsi, and cut down on carbs. I tried to find tasty alternatives to things I loved, like cauliflower rice, and use that to make fried rice. I used flat out bread to make pizza and so on. No plan or program. I just used the information that my doctor gave me, “Losing weight is 90% watching your food intake and 10% exercise!”
What did your workout routines look like?
I started off looking at my elliptical machine. No really, I sat and glared at it. Oh, how I hated it. I
got rid of it. Next, I sat and watched the Fitness Marshall’s videos. Then, one day, I got up and did one of his videos and that was it! I just recently joined a gym. I work out 6 days a week, on average, for 1.5 hours per session.
Starting weight/Current weight?
My starting weight was 261 pounds and my current weight is 211 pounds. My goal weight is 180 pounds and I’m 5’5″.
When did you start your journey?
I started in January 2017, so it’s been about 6 months so far.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Love you. Seriously, fall madly, deeply, passionately in love with yourself FIRST. Celebrate your victories, all of them. If people are not on your “team success” let em go. “Boy, bye!” Make this a lifestyle ,change not a fad! Did I mention love yourself?
