Hello I have been heavy since I have had my children. I have finally took time for myself and health after realizing the foods I would consume were just not healthy. I dn’t eat many sweets and I watch m salt and portions now. I have been seeing results and I am happy. I drink smoothies with frozen fruits , granola, fresh spinach, etc…..and I love them. I eat a lot of chicken (baked, grilled)….and I have become more active. I want to live and feel good about changing my lifestyle to being healthy. Hi i love this chat support because i have noone to support me rite now, after i had my son i went back down to a size 6 and then 2 yrs later after my daughter the weight didn’t go away as fast , i was a size 10 then 9 but then i had medical problems and i had to have surgery and then bedrest which is never good because at first you loose weight then you gain it back and more. I have had about 19 surgeries altogether over the years and i have been on a weight lose roller coaster and it is hard to loose it but easy to gain it. I have tried so many diets and diet products they should’ve paid me, now i’m trying to loose again i monitor my sugar in take, my fat intake, no sodas, no fried food, i don’t realy eat sweats that much because i bake i don’t want them but i have been baking whole wheat sugarfree fatfree cookies for my fiance and when someone orders them from me. I drink more water than i use to and i love the smoothies i am going to continue to do them but because of my knee problems i can’t go walking like i want to so when they are not hurting so bad i get on my bike and i do other exercises to work on my abs and flabby arms and so far i have lost 15 pounds. Its so wonferful to have support. I do not have any. I recently have surgery for PCOS polycystic ovary syndrome. I have gained a lot of weight i weight 212 pounds and i am 5’1. I have tried everything under the sun. beacsue of the PCOS the my doctor said it would be difficult to lose weight. I have started eating healthier, baked chicken and more vegetables.I started to get burnt out on the same foods all the time what can i do to keep the momentum going so i gon’t give up.
Make your own!
I have my staple morning and lunch smoothie, it is dark, rich and oh so good for you.
Here is the list of ingredients.
Kale, organic half a bunch.
3 bananas,
Water
Juice of half a lemon.
If you need additional sweetness you can add a date or two or a teaspoon of honey.
Layer the bananas first, then the kale then add a pint or so of water, depending on how thick you want it. And blend. I like to add an ice cube at the end.
You can make many varieties of this. You can use Romaine lettuce instead of Kale, spring greens, spinach. The lemon is necessary to activate the nutrients, you can opt for an orange instead of a lemon or a lime. Grapefruit is a good addition too. If you want your skin to glow you can add organic cucumbers. This smoothie will regulate your digestion, give your body instant nutrients and it is also very filling. I sometimes will put mango instead of bananas, or papaya, or frozen organic cherries, or raspberries, the idea is dark leafy greens and fruit and then try to drink 1/2 a pitcher at breakfast and the rest at lunch. Make your dinner light, and not too late. This is hard to do and I have been undisciplined about dinner, but if you stick to this, cut out soda, junk food and fatty foods and do physical activity … watch the pounds drop off. Cheers, Dea.
I did this for lunch felt like I was drinking medicine. I will add a cucumber didn’t finish drinking it.
Shalottsays
If this is your first attempt at green smoothies add the greens a little at a time until your taste adjusts. You can increase over time. Ice or frozen bananas can also help. It is worth the adjustment for the benefits.

I was sceptical about trying smoothies, but I bought the Nutri-Bullet and gave it a try. I use greens: spinach, kale, spring mix but I also throw in frozen fruit- mango, peaches, blueberries, strawberries. I add flax seed at times, carrots, cucumbers, squash, zucchini. It depends on what I have. I sometimes use water, sometimes 1/2 100% apple juice & 1/2 water. The problem is I do not get full and in about 2 hours want something else. I also struggle because while I may be getting all the needed nutrients, I do not feel like I am full because I have not chewed. These are my problems with substituting meals with smoothies.
ajimasays
Hi Cori, I always suggest 20-24 oz of smoothie minimum when using them as a meal replacement. How much are you drinking? I also suggest that you drink enough to make yourself full.

Hi Tiffany I believe it’s time to move forward and change your thoughts you change your life. Just because you have always been…. does not mean you have to be. You can do it. I would get someone to come along side of you and hold you accountable. You can lose it for life!
I agree with Trayce. First you have to put yourself in the right frame of mind. You are a good and beautiful person. You are strong, and capable. Get yourself a partner (it’s more fun if you have someone to gossip with and/or bounce ideas off of) and get it done. Start by walking. Whenever, and wherever possible. Try to take the stairs more often. Baby steps. You can do it. We’re all here for you…going through our own versions of the same problem. Put one foot in front of the other and we’ll see you at the finish line!!!

I have been fat all my life also, and i did have surgery lost 150 lb and gained it back, so now i am doing Atkins diet because its my last desperate plea. as of Jan. 19th i have lost over 36 lbs and down over 30 inches and found it to be helpful in my health, since the holidays are over and went through Easter i feel i did very good. Good luck you can do it.
Hello tiffany.. I truly understand.. I too have been wanting to have surgery to help out my issue. I just had to understand that there’s no quick or easy way out. even if you save up the money to get the operation, you could have dropped lbs or inches doing that. you would have to learn how to eat better, portion control, maintain a proper diet and be confident with yourself. we both could talk about how to rid fat but first you have to act on it…
I’m typing from my phone. will respond with more later. until then start with a plan that don’t include a easy way out. if you took the time to gain it.. you can take the time to get rid of it..
I read something on this site that helped me get started successfully. It said just start small. every body know 5 things they need to stop doing and can walk for 20 minutes a day. I thought hey that’s true. So I s started thing of the 5 things I do that make me overweight or unhealthy and came up w about 25 things. I thought no wonder I’m overweight! So I picked 5 and started right away. Now I’m up to 7 on my list and it didn’t take long to drop a couple of pounds. I like this approach because it made me personally accountable. Also, keeping up w websites like this one can be very motivating and continuing to educate yourself about healthy foods. Now i must start exercising! Oh boy. You can do this!
I have lost 68lbs, but after two I gained 30 back.I am a single mother of four and a college student. I realized that if I do not take care of myself there will be no one to take care of my kids. I moved away from my family to attend college, so I am on my own with this weight lost journey, however, my kids workout with me. I just started meal prep and exercising i have downed 5lbs this week!
In January of this year I weigh a whopping 188 pounds. In April I decided to loose weight. I became a vegetaruan learned how to do pushups and began jogging. I committed to only drinking water and hot green tea and last week i met my goal of 150 lbs…no pills or shake on diet stuff or miracle diet thinga ma jigs…..and here i stand at 150…now because i saw and see m going for
i want to do the october challenge. i am gonna choose clean eating. I am starting to pick back up the weight I had lost and since that is not gonna happen, its time to kick it back in gear. I am in the process of trying to understand what clean eating means so im following it correctly. Looking forward to the support and joy to share.
I have been trying to lose weight for a long time and I have been overweight my entire life. The challenges have helped a lot. There are several women on my job
who have had weight loss surgery and they don’t workout but they have lost a lot of weight but are flabby. They kind of gang up on me because I am not a fan of weight loss surgery. Hard to stay focused when they have seemed to lose weight with no effort.
I don’t have a gym membership but I do have a treadmill, elliptical machine and a excerise bike so I’m wondering can I lose weight and get fit using those machines. I’ve stop drinking sodas over a year ago, don’t do juices but orange juice, I’m not big on sweets and I’m ttying to stay away from white products so I mostly eat meat and veggies ,fruit and sweet potatoes. ..am I on the right track for losing weight or what else can I add to be fit
I started my kale smoothie journey on Sun 10/21/12 but I have a quest on appetite control, I don’t have it. Any suggestions and or advice will be greatly appreciated I am shooting for 10lbs .
Thank you in advance

I had weight loss surgery and lost over 40lbs, but I am going through a lot of stress and have resorted back to my comfort foods (ice cream, cakes, chips). Hello Terri, I have sub my sweets for fruit not can fruit but fresh fruit. I cut pineapples, bananas, grapes…. So try that and you may find it fulfilling…
What I do is get those oranges called cuties and I put a bunch of them in containers peeled and I snack on those when I get that sweet cravings usually when I’m stressed and at night. I’m 200lbs 5feet 7 and my BMI is 50. I just think like this 210 for me will cause all kinds of things to happen.

What do u do if u can’t exercise… I broke my ankle and I’m recovering. But this weight has to go… I’ve started slimfast with plenty of fruits, chicken, turkey and vegetables. So what can I do
Earlier this year I sprained my ankle and broke my hand and went through surgery all at the same time. During recovery I watched what I ate very carefully because I could not be active. As I started getting better, I started swimming since that puts very little stress on the joints. I also did some water aerobics. Then I moved on to spinning. My ankle is not fully recovered. I can’t run for longer than a minute but I am in kickboxing and Zumba. If you can get to a pool, swimming is the best thing.
Hi Gloria, water treading is great , and also if you go to therapy ask for those rubber bands that they have they give them free and i sit in the chair and stretch them and sometimes do my leg exercise with them.

Hi, I’m in the same boat ever since I came back from my vacation in August. The whole time I was on vacation I did well with not over
eating. I worked out by walking. But I haven’t done anything since then. I dont know what happened. I absolutely have no motivation. I gained 12 more pounds. I’m currently @ 227. My goal is to lose 80lbs. But this week I went walking for 20 mins which is a mile at the park I walk at. I think we have to start a little at a time ,every other day just do something for 30 mins in the first week u start, then the second week do what ever u do a little longer. I think by the third week we will be motivated and in routine. Good luck.

Hello ladies. Im new to the chat. Im trying to get to 170. Im 190 now. Since sept ive lost 25lbs. I was 215. I changed eating habits. Only drink water. Low carbs lots of protein fruits n veggies. 1 cheat day a week. Go to gym 3-5 times a week. Do mostly cardio n weights for my arms and legs.

Hello everyone. I have been overweight my entire life and I really want to lose 100 pounds. I have tried diet pills and almost died from taking them because they didn’t mix well with asthma medication. I joined the gym and go about 3 times a week. I started cycling and really love it and I have lost about 20 pounds in the past month. Am I on the right track with the cycling and do I need to add weight lifting.
I don’t know what you daily diet looks like but Try working out 6 days a week Instead of just 3. Now I know we are all busy and you don’t have to go to the gym for the extra 3 days you can just walk (And run too) a lot more. But when you’re losing weight doing the right things then you know you’re on the right track. Here is a recipe that might help you… I haven’t tried it yet but I will soon!
Fat Flush Water
Ingredients
1/2 gallon water
1 grapefruit, sliced (can substitute with one lemon)
1 tangerine, sliced (can substitute with orange)
1 large cucumber, sliced
10-20 peppermint leaves
Ice – as much as you like
Directions
Rinse grapefruit, tangerine, cucumber and peppermint leaves. Slice cucumber, grapefruit, and tangerine (or peel). Combine all ingredients in a half gallon pitcher. Allow ingredients to sit as long as possible for maximum benefits. Drink throughout the day and made a new pitcher everyday.
Stir & Enjoy!

Good luck you can do it.
angelia says
Hello tiffany.. I truly understand.. I too have been wanting to have surgery to help out my issue. I just had to understand that there’s no quick or easy way out. even if you save up the money to get the operation, you could have dropped lbs or inches doing that. you would have to learn how to eat better, portion control, maintain a proper diet and be confident with yourself. we both could talk about how to rid fat but first you have to act on it…
I’m typing from my phone. will respond with more later. until then start with a plan that don’t include a easy way out. if you took the time to gain it.. you can take the time to get rid of it..
talk to you soon…

Hi everyone, My name is Terri. I am looking for a support group. I had weight loss surgery and lost over 40lbs, but I am going through a lot of stress and have resorted back to my comfort foods (ice cream, cakes, chips). I continue to workout but need a substitute for the sweets and someone to talk to when the cravings arise.
Selina says
Hi Terri I do the same thing I always work out but those cupcakes and chips get me every time. It feels like I start a diet everyday

Hello Terri, I have sub my sweets for fruit not can fruit but fresh fruit. I cut pineapples, bananas, grapes…. So try that and you may find it fulfilling…

What do u do if u can’t exercise… I broke my ankle and I’m recovering. But this weight has to go… I’ve started slimfast with plenty of fruits, chicken, turkey and vegetables. So what can I do
Diana says
Gloria,
Earlier this year I sprained my ankle and broke my hand and went through surgery all at the same time.
TRACIE S Gilchrist says
I want to say y’all have inspired me to lose this weight.

Hi Gloria, water treading is great , and also if you go to therapy ask for those rubber bands that they have they give them free and i sit in the chair and stretch them and sometimes do my leg exercise with them.

Wow sounds like new York sports club. My schedule is kind of crazy but I’m there every chance I get and I have a personal trainer that gives me things to do while I’m at work or at home. I have yet to try the water aerobics…..my hair.

Good luck.

Jessica says
