Update Nov 2017: Rayshawn lost 18 pounds and she’s kept the weight off since we featured her story in June. Check out how she has maintained her results.
How have you maintained your success?
I’ve maintained my weight by eating more chicken and fish with lots of colorful veggies. I’ve decreased my red meat intake and I eat small meals every 2 – 3 hours. I make sure that I get 30 minutess of cardio everyday before breakfast and before bedtime. I take 10,000 or more steps per day.
What are the biggest lessons you’ve learned?
I’ve learned that your Health is your Wealth. We should all invest in ourselves by making healthier food choices and exercising. This will result in more energy, the elimination of regular medication and living a longer life. What stands out the most for me physically, is that my stomach is flatter. I suffered with IBS for 6 yrs. Since I’ve been focused on my health by eating right and exercising, my IBS has been eliminated for 3 yrs and counting. I also feel awesome in my clothes.
Is there any advice you would offer at this point on your journey?
My advice would be to first realize that “Your Health is Your Wealth.” I’ve lost and maintained my weight without any surgeries, diet pills, etc. I’ve put in the work and the results are Always amazing. You have to be dedicated & driven to reach your goal. We only have one life to live, so why not make it your Best Life ever by being healthy!
Rayshawn lost 18 pounds. She wanted to be the healthiest that she could be on her 50th birthday. She worked with a weight loss coach, ate healthier food and did an hour of cardio each day to release the weight. Check out her journey.
What was your motivation?
My weight loss journey began in March 2015. My motivation and goal was to be the healthiest that I could be for my 50th Birthday. I suffered from IBS. (irritable bowel syndrome) The program I used was called the “Transformation” by the Diet Doctor , Mr. Terry Starks. It’s a 5 week/35 day program.
What kept you going during the hard times?
When I wanted to throw in the towel, I thought about how I felt and looked in my clothes.
How did you change your eating habits?
My eating habits have changed tremendously. I ate more fruit and vegetables. I had stopped eating apples in the past, but on this program I had one apple a day with my salad. I’ve learned apples will keep you satisfied and they have fiber.
What did you do in terms of exercise?
My excerise routine consisted of 30 minutes of cardio, first thing in the morning, and 30 minutes before bedtime. I did this 7 days per week.
Starting weight/Current weight
When I started the program, I weighed close to 190 pounds; I currently weigh 172 pounds and my height is 5’4″. I was a size 16 and now I’m in a comfortable size 10. I no longer suffer with IBS. I have more energy and I feel fantastic.
How long did your transformation take?
I started the program on March 1, 2015 and have been able to maintain a healthy lifestyle to date. It works as long as you stay obedient to the program.
What advice would you give to other people who want to lose weight?
My advice would be to stay focused on living the healthiest life possible, without pills and surgery. Also, It’s always good to cook your meals. Refrain from eating fast food and frozen dinners. When you dine out, make healthy choices. Your Health is your Wealth
