Transformation of the Day: Angela lost 20 pounds. Her body fat percentage went from 38% to 24% and she no longer has to take blood pressure or diabetes medication. She has taken control of her life and her health. Check out how she did it.
After many years of uncontrolled hypertension and countless hospitalizations, Coach Anthony Elfonzia stepped in to save my life. By following his NN90 Wellness program along with a regular exercise routine, he has helped me to transform not just my body, but my entire world. I’m no longer taking 5 blood pressure medications or medication for diabetes. In fact, I’m off of all meds. My A1C went from a 8.9 to a 5.8.
In the midst of this transformation I was sidelined by unexpected complications due to a necessary surgery. Coach Anthony tailored my diet and exercise routine to allow proper healing during my recovery and I bounced back stronger than ever. I’m eternally grateful for the gift of wellness that I’ve received by working with my friend and trainer. Thank You, Coach!
What was your motivation?
My motivation for losing weight was to finally take control of my health and take back my life. Over the past 10 years, I’ve had many complications and countless hospitalizations due to uncontrolled hypertension. My last hospital admission was on October 14,2016. I’ll never forget that date, because that was the day that I vowed to make a change.
How did you change your eating habits?
The program is low carb, low salt, high protein and high vegetable intake. No longer do my meals consist of fried foods, breads and sugary drinks. I now meal prep portion controlled meals. I have proteins and vegetables with a limited amount of fruit for snacking.
Starting weight/Current weight
I’m 5′ 7″ and when I started I weighed 190 pounds. I currently weigh 170 pounds. I know the numbers don’t reflect a large weight decrease, but my body fat percentage went from 38% to 24% in just a few short months.
What did your exercise routine look like?
I’ve been doing online training with Coach Anthony since November 2016. I’m in the gym 5-6 days a week. A major part of my workout consists of weight training. Three times a week I add 30 minute sprints at the end of my workout. Ultimately I’d like to enter the world of bodybuilding, so I’m working towards that goal with my trainer.
What advice do you have for other people who want to lose weight?
My advice to others who are seeking to lose weight is to find your motivation, whether it’s your family or health reasons. Once you’ve found your motivation, find the program that’s right for you. There are many diet and exercise programs out there, but you need to find one that’s enjoyable and one that works for you. You will have some good and bad days, but ultimately it’s you life and you must take control.
