Transformation of the Day: Camilla lost 68 pounds. This mom of two realized that she had let herself go. She wanted to be a happy, healthy and active mom. After a dressing room wake up call she made the decision to transform her lifestyle. Check out how she did it.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going during the tough times?
I started my weight loss journey a little over a year ago. I had two children and the pregnancies were very close together. I had completely let myself go. I went shopping one day, tried on a few pieces of clothing and they didn’t fit. When I looked in the mirror, I didn’t recognize myself. That was the day I decided to never let myself go again.
What inspired me not to give up was my kids. I love playing with them in the park, but it had gotten to the point where I couldn’t keep up because I was too out of breath. I didn’t want to be that mom who sat in her lawn chair on the sidelines because being active was too exacerbating.
How did you change your eating habits?
I did a lot of research on high protein foods and foods that can aid in weight loss. I started by cutting out all juices, sodas, beef, pork, processed food and sweets. Then, I introduced more fish, chicken, fruits and vegetables into my meals. Most mornings, I had green smoothies with hard boiled eggs.
What did your exercise routine look like?
I started working out 5 to 6 times a week, with a rest day on Sundays. At 4:45 am, I would be up and at the gym for an hour. I did this for almost 6 months. After that, I incorporated Camp Gladiator into my routine, going 3 to 4 times a week in addition to going to the gym 4 times a week. Now, I workout out consistently at a home gym 4 times a week.
Starting weight/Current weight
My highest weight was 260 pounds and now I weigh 192 pounds. I am 5’5″.
How long has your journey taken?
I started my journey in December 2015 and I’m still going. I saw the bulk of my results within the first 8 months.
What advice would you give to other people who want to lose weight?
The advice that I have for others is to start this journey when YOU are ready! Don’t let other people convince you to be ready, because you won’t have the discipline and motivation to keep going if you don’t wait until you are ready. Don’t compare yourself to others. Everybody’s journey is different. If you fall off, please get back up. Just remember to keep going no matter how hard it gets! It will all pay off in the end.
