Transformation of the Day: Meagan lost 94 pounds. She simply got tired of wanting to do better and decided to change her life commiting to a healthier lifestyle. This journey was not just about what she did, it was about the positive, realistic point of view she embraced. Check out her story.
My story is very simple. I got tired of wanting to be better, so I did better.
As many people do, I struggled with weight loss. I came to the realization that I was never going to lose weight if I just depended on a scale to tell me what I needed to do. I had to think of it as a journey that would take time, instead of trying to find the fastest way to lose the pounds, which always ended in disappointment and more weight gain.
Life throws you obstacles, and this one obstacle was holding me back tremendously. So, I decided to take my life into my own hands and get it together. I simply started with Herbalife products combined with a Paleo diet. After the first 40 pounds came off, I got a personal trainer and I work with him 5-6 times a week. I had days where I cheated, but eventually saw no point in that. I have goals and they are more important than my urges to go off plan.
I started this journey at 311 pounds and have lost over 90 pounds in a year. My height is 5’6″. I currently weigh 217 pounds. Not quite at 100 lbs down, but almost there! I have a little ways to go before reaching my goal weight, but I’m closer today than I was on day one. There’s no stopping me now!
My advice for others is simply this: No one can lose the weight for you. It’s really all up to you. It’s about your dedication and you being so sick and tired of wanting to lose weight that you GET IT DONE. Do it one day at a time. I didn’t get here being focused on how long it would take me to get there. It’s really a day in and day out thing. I stayed motivated by writing down what ate and keeping my journey to myself. The less people involved in such a personal journey, the better. I had no choice but to be honest with myself and kept myself accountable for all my food choices.
This was a marathon, not a sprint. Surgery crossed my mind, but at the end of the day I would have to change my eating habits and exercise anyway, so why not do it without going under the knife? This kind of forward thinking got me through and is currently getting me through each day.
Without the woman on the right, the woman on the left wouldn’t exist. I’m still striving to be even better than I was the day before. One day at a time and one pound at a time, I’m going to succeed. I’m going to continue to make the most important person proud, and that’s me. If I can be an instrument of inspiration to anyome else who is going through this process, that’s a bonus.
