Transformation of the Day: Michelle lost 41 pounds. Health was her main motivation. Being overweight made her asthma worse and other health issues were knocking at the door. As she released the weight, she shared her transformation story online. Inspiring others helped her to push during the hard times.
What was your motivation?
My main motivation to get started was my health. I was born with asthma and my weight made it worse. With other health issues mounting, I had to make a change. As I dropped the weight and my health got better, I became a motivation for others. Knowing that other people were looking to me as inspiration kept me going when I wanted to quit.
How did you change your eating habits?
My eating didn’t change right away. It wasn’t until I started seeing minor changes that I decided that this was only going to work if I was willing to give it my all. I first gave up fast food and sodas. Then, I gave up junk food shortly after that. I didn’t follow a specific food plan. My typical meal consists of protein and veggies, as well as healthy snacks throughout the day, like nuts and fresh fruit.
What was your workout routine?
When I first started this journey, I worked out 4 days a week. My workouts would consist of 1 leg day, 1 upper body day, 1 day for cardio/core, and 1 day doing a total body workout.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 245 pounds and my current weight is 204 pounds. My height is 5’9″.
How long did your journey take?
I started this journey on Sept. 10, 2011. My transformation took about 9 months.
What advice would you give to other people who want to lose weight?
For those who want to lose weight, my advice would be just start. If you’re waiting for the right time, you’ll always be waiting.
