Transformation of the Day: Nicole lost 67 pounds. This wife and mom of 2 decided it was time to take her life back. She’s a professional photographer and when a mountain top wedding shoot became very physically challenging, that was a major wakeup call. Check out how she took action.
I’m a wedding photographer. I was shooting a wedding on January 13, 2014. I remember it like yesterday. This shoot took place on top of a mountain! I had to climb a little over 535 steps to reach the peak where the ceremony was being held. Walking up that mountain, I wanted to die or pass out… one of the two. Around that time, I began noticing that I no longer had the energy to play with my children. I would get winded just trying to do simple things, like hula hoop, play hide-n-seek or our favorite game: kickball. It was around this time that I finally decided enough was enough. I couldn’t do this anymore and something needed to change.
I cut out all dark sodas, candy, fast food… EVERYTHING. I drank only water and limited the amount of times we ate out as a family. From Jan. 2014 to April 2015, I worked out 4-5 days a week for four hours. I am lucky enough to be able to work from home, so that is a little easier to do when you set your own schedule. Now, I still do in home workouts, 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours at night after I put the children to bed. I added strength training to my routine during Summer 2016.
Starting Weight/Current Weight
My starting weight was 205 pounds and my current weight is 138 pounds. My height is 5’6″.
How long did your transformation take?
It will be three years on Jan. 17 2017
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
Have a plan. While it’s easy to just jump into it, if you don’t have a goal (other than losing weight) you will eventually become stagnant. You can’t just lose the weight and expect it to magically stay off. You have to change your entire lifestyle. That’s the hard part.
