Update: We shared Shay‘s story back in 2014 when she’d lost 52 pounds. As of May 2016, she’d gotten back to her starting weight, so she decided it was time to get back on track. She’s lost 25 pounds. Check out how she did it.
I started my weight loss journey around 2012. I emptied my closet, went natural and decided I wanted a “New Me”. My motivation was wanting to just be overall healthy. I used fitness clothes to keep me motivated. As crazy as it sounds, I live by “if you look cute, you feel cute” = great workout! I saw friends getting fit and always asked them how they did it. I expected them to give me the answers. Now, I know everyone’s journey isn’t the same. We all have different bodies and they don’t all react the same to certain things.
I changed my eating habits by eating Smart Ones by Weight Watchers foods. I ate these meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and 3 snacks that didn’t exceed 100 calories. I allowed myself 1150-1200 calories a day. At first, you don’t know much. The further you get on your journey, the more you learn. I don’t recommend using packaged process foods at all now. I stopped eating a lot of bread as well. Today, I drink mostly smoothies for breakfast and I eat salads everyday!
I became a Pescetarian on 5/2/14 and currently I’m a Vegetarian (as of 9/3/16). I was in love with Crab Legs until I ran into a bad batch and was completely turned off by the smell.
I workout about 4-5 times a week. I always drink at least a gallon of water, preferably Alkaline Water 9.5.
My starting weight back in 2012 was around 240 pounds and the lowest I’ve seen was around 190 pounds. Since then, the highest weight I got back to was 243 pounds on 5/21/16. I cried and decided to join the gym near my house. Since then I’ve loss around 25 pounds.
In order to lose weight you have to have the right mindset! Mind over Matter! Don’t rush losing weight. Just focus on being healthy and it will help you for a lifetime! Find what works for you and do that!
