Transformation of the Day: Skye lost 81 pounds. Her transformation is about being there for her family for years to come and breaking free of feelings of depression and hopelessness. This proud mom of 5 partnered with her son on this journey and they’ve lost over 130 lbs combined. Check out her transformation story.
I was motivated to lose weight because I have 5 babies who needed their mom to be around. I was also seriously depressed, feeling hopeless and feeling lost. I thought that I was so far gone that I was going to need weight loss surgery. Instead, I decided to give it a shot on my own.
I partnered up with my oldest son and we started using Chris Powell’s carb cycling plan. We also joined the gym and started working out. Mainly, we did cardio at first and then we got into weight training. We started going every other day. Then, working out became such a huge part of our life that we currently go 6 days a week.
I cut out a lot of processed junk and started eating real, whole foods. Fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, lean meats, eggs, cheese, whole grains, etc. I still have cheat meals once in awhile, but honestly after adapting to a healthy diet, anything less than healthy generally upsets my stomach.
My starting weight was 122.7 kg (270 lbs). I weighed in today at 86.0 kg (189 lbs). I am 5 ft 4 inches tall. It’s taken me a year and a half to lose the pounds.
I will continue to strive and work hard to be the best version of myself, mind, body, soul. The best piece of advice I can give someone is to keep going. Life throws a lot of curve balls and it’s easy to underestimate how capable you are. You’re allowed to mess up. You’re allowed to be human. But you HAVE to get back up and keep going no matter what. Thats all that success is… never giving up.
I feel so blessed to have been on this journey with my son. He’s lost 50 lbs and I couldnt be prouder of him! This definitely has been a family affair. My kids love doing boot camps and being active, as they’ve struggled with their weight as well. I just think it’s incredibly important to give kids the tools needed to live a happy, healthy life.
