Gladys lost 33 pounds. She is still working very hard on her transformation, but she’s not waiting until the end to celebrate her awesome progress. She says, “Stop creating excuses, they will not help you.” Check out what she shared with us about her journey.
Hello, my name is Gladys. I had been struggling with my weight for many years, but I was determined to do something about my weight. I always encourage myself to keep going, no matter how hard it is. My biggest inspiration has been the Black Women Losing Weight Facebook page.
My weight loss journey began on April 16, 2016. I developed my meal plan by doing research and finding methods that work. I cut out junk food, sugar, white rice, white bread and soda. I started eating fruits and vegetables. I also drank lots of water and had 2 cups of green tea everyday. For exercise, I did cardio, weightlifting, rope skipping and aerobics in my group class. I workout 5 – 6 times a week.
My starting weight was 253.5 pounds (115kg) at 5’5″ tall. I currently weigh 220.5 pounds (100kg). My total weight loss is 33 pounds(15kg). I would like to lose about 44 pounds (20kg) more. I am still working seriously on my transformation.
My advice to others is never to give up. With determination and hard work you will reach your goal. Stop creating excuses, they will not help you.
