Transformation of the Day: ShawnDella lost 65 pounds. Although she loves her fabulous curves, she wanted to dedicate more time and attention to herself in the form of creating a healthier lifestyle. Check out how she changed her eating and exercise habits to make it happen.
The before photo on the right was taken a week after I moved back to TX in 2015 at the Beyonce concert. I was embracing my fabulous curves. The after photo on the left was from a date night this weekend with my baby. I was looking more fit and fabulous than ever!
I was motivated to get started about 1 year ago. I started my true transformation in August of 2015, after being transferred for work back to Texas. When I got back to Texas, I weighed 250 pounds. I wanted to do something for myself and decided to dedicate more time to me by living a healthy life. I went through working with a series of personal trainers until I met Reggie, my new trainer. He has really pushed and motivated me for the past 6 months. It’s not easy. It takes 100% determination and 100% dedication to achieve these results.
I have always been a curves, even as an adolescent, but I had some health challenges that could be managed with some exercise and weight loss. The most I ever weighted was 265 pounds in 2013. Now, I weight in at 200 pounds. My height is 5’6″.
My weekly workouts consist of 2 days of heavy weight lifting, 3 days of high intensity cardio, and 2 days of running! To lose weight, it takes just getting up off the couch and taking a first walk around the block. Eventually that walk will turn into a run and you will see how taking the first step can really help change my your life!
I manage my diet by getting 3 healthy meals and 2 snacks, as well as all water as my body can take. Healthy day meal prep – favorite meals and snacks:
Breakfast: oatmeal, snack: mixed fruits
Lunch: kale and Brussels sprout salad with grilled chicken poppyseed dressing
Snack: kind bar (sea salt and caramel)
Dinner: turkey meal balls, brown rice, spinach
