Update Nov 2016 – Constance lost another 10 pounds and recently participated in her first figure competition. She’s lost a total of 80 pounds.
I’m writing to update you on my progress. I have lost another 10 pounds, for a total of 80 lbs. released. I also competed in my first figure competition, placing 3rd in the over 30 category. I used flexible dieting to prepare for my competition. I still wear the same size clothes at this time. I am completely satisfied with my body image, but I still have a hard time believing what I look like. My mind still sees me at 220 pounds, until I walk pass a mirror. I am currently studying for my Personal Trainer Certification, so I can help others meet their fitness goals. If I had to give any advice, it would be to continuously set goals so that you have something to work towards.
Transformation of the Day: Constance lost 70 pounds, going from a size 16 to a size 2. This petite mom was always “thick” and didn’t realize how much weight she’d gained over the years. Wanting to avoid a family history of diabetes and high blood pressure, she did the work and made simple, realistic changes. Check out her story.
Hello, my name is Constance and I’m writing this in hopes that I can inspire someone else on their weight loss journey. I have always been considered “thick,” but as I got older and had children my weight continued to increase. At my heaviest, I had 220 pounds on my 5 foot tall frame. I never really realized just how heavy I was until I started losing weight.
My family has a long history of diabetes and high blood pressure, and I knew I did not want to take medication for the rest of my life. I started working out twice a day in August of 2014, but I never lost a pound until December 2014. That’s when I realized I couldn’t out work horrible eating habits. Once I removed sugars and simple carbs from my diet, I lost two pounds a day for two weeks. I fell in love with heavy lifting and spinning class and do both on a consistent basis. I work out 5-6 days per week and run 5ks twice per month. I enjoy working out and watching my body change.
I am currently training for my first body building competition. At this time, I have lost a total of 70 pounds by simply changing my diet and exercising on a regular basis. My current weight is 150 pounds. I have gone from a size 16 to a size 2 in about a year and a half.
The best advice I could give to others is to make small, realistic changes. There is nothing special about me, so I know anyone can do this. I surround myself with positive like-minded people that keep me motivated and focused.
Positive Connection: I just wanted to let you know that you sight truly does work. I saw you feature on Fitnatic Lifestyle (Gayna) and reached out to her when I was struggling. She responded to me in a positive way and gave me the motivation I needed to keep going. For that, I will forever be eternally grateful for your site and for her. THANK YOU!
