Weight Loss Story: Jennifer lost 31 pounds. She started her journey 5 months ago by making practical changes to her diet and working out hard. Mindset, consistency and willpower have been key factors to her success. Check out what she shared with us.
Hi, my name is Jennifer H. and I started my lifestyle change on Nov 1, 2015.
What was your motivation?
When I had to shop for a size 14/16, I knew it was time to make a change! My inspiration was the fact that I simply want to look and feel amazing and get my healthy life back.
How did you change your eating habits?
I left junk food, fried foods, red meat, sodas, juices and take out alone. I started eating lean and green foods.
What did your workout routines look like?
My workout rountines consisted of running 4 miles a day, 6 days a week for the first 3 months. Then, I incorporated weight training the fourth month. Now, I start my workouts with running. Next, I work on my abdominals for about 20 minutes, followed by lifting for about 30 minutes. I have also started working with a personal trainer 2 to 3 times a week. (My trainer, X-Factor Owner Alton Maiden out of Desoto, TX, has played a major role.)
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started out at 198 pounds on Nov 1st and I currently weigh 167 pounds. My goal weight is 150 pounds and I’m 5’4″ in height. I went from a size 14/16 to a size 7/8.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
The key factors are mindset, consistency and willpower. If you have all three, then you are ready for a lifestyle rather than just a hobby or diet.
