Weight Loss Transformation of the Day: Shakeyta lost 105 pounds. Her weight was putting a strain on her body and she make the decision to commit to change. With lots of hard work and the support of her husband, she has been able to transform herself over the last 4 years with simple, straight forward changes. Here is what she shared with us…
I weighed 280 pounds and it was putting a strain on my body. I knew that I had to do something and do it fast. I made the decision to change my life and that’s what I did. I changed my eating habits, started keeping track of what I ate and how much I ate daily. I also made it a priority to hit the gym everyday and reach a daily calorie burn goal. Through hard work and support of my husband, I accomplished my goal. I now weigh 175 pounds and I’m still working hard to keep the weight off. (height: 5’9″)
My motivation was my health, my family, and myself. I had sleep apnea, which truly scared me. When I wanted to give up, I just prayed a little harder.
I changed my food intake and overall diet. I don’t eat fried foods or drink sodas. I eat salad, fish, baked chicken breast, and I bake a lot in general. My goal is portion control.
I do a lot of walking and running. I also have The Biggest Loser on Xbox Kinect, which I love. I workout every morning for about 2 hours.
It took me about 4 years to get where I am today. I have tried every diet pill, but in the end I would just put the weight back on with that method, so I decided to do this the rite way. For anyone that is trying to lose weight, I would say, “Don’t give up. If you do, get back up and go again.” Remember, it’s a process and it takes time.
