Weight Loss Transformation of the Day: Destiny lost 60 pounds. In the beginning, she just wanted to lose weight fast. Eventually, she learned how to eat her favorites in moderation, use portion control and workout regularly to reach her weight release goals. Here is what she shared with us about how she took action.
What was your motivation?
When I first started it was mostly about how fast could I lose the weight. I did not start out losing weight in a way that was healthy for me. I ate veggies and fruit everyday. NO other FOOD for 2 weeks straight. After making myself sick from doing that, my inspiration was just to look better and live a healthier life.
How did you change your eating habits?
At first, I changed nothing, I just ate smaller portions. Later, I started buying low calorie snacks. Not long after that, I fell in love with vegetables and Subway… lol. I also cut out a lot of junk I used to eat. I do still eat the two things I cannot live without, Forrero Rocher Chocolates and Cinnamon Toast Crunch!
What did your workout routines look like?
At first it was CARDIO, CARDIO, and more CARDIO. I did Hip Hop Abs and Rockin Body workout DVDs. I also was walking for cardio because walking was all I could really do. After about 6 months, I started strength training and included that with my cardio. I would do cardio about 4 or 5 times a week and strength training about 2 times a week. I owe most of my weight loss success to Shaun T.
Starting Weight/Current Weight/Height
My starting weight was 320 pounds. My current weight is 240 pounds. My height is 5 ft 7 in.
How long did your transformation take?
My journey took about 2 years.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Don’t do for others, do it for yourself. Stick with it! Just because you do not see the results you want to see does not mean that change is not happening. Keep your faith and believe in yourself!
