Today’s featured weight loss success story: Kimberly lost 167 pounds following the U.S. Dukan Diet.
Here is what Kimberly had to say about her weight loss journey:
“Hello, it has taken me awhile but I have finally found the nerve and confidence to submit my picture. I lost the weight following the U.S. Dukan Diet, that my doctor recommended. At 32 I was a single mother with two girls, but morbidly obese, depressed and suffering from a range of ills to include congestive heart failure and thyroid disease. After facing the possibility that my girls would have to go through life without me, I changed the whole way in which I related to food, it no longer was my companion, it became fuel. I ate lean proteins and vegetables an rewarded myself weekly with 1 celebration meal of my choice…After so long my lifestyle changed and I didn’t want to eat junk or to overindulge on my celebration days….finally walking and strength training became a new way of life!

I just started moving… By walking, insanity, and counting cals. I lost inches. I want to try the diet she did…Just keep trying… Dont give up.

I would not be so concerned with how many calories that you are consuming, but rather the KIND of calories in proportion to the fat content….foods that contain a higher percentage of fat are the culprits for example…a steak may be 200 calories, but may only contain 6% fat….a hotdog may only be 120 but 80% fat….which one do you think would cause you to gain weight? Try eliminating empty calories and just eat lean proteins and vegetables, later add fruits, then slowly add carbs and you are sure to lose….then once you reach your goal…have a celebration meal where you can eat all of the foods that you crave at least one time each week…this will keep you from feeling deprived and keep you motivated….also, you will see that eventually you won’t want all of that stuff. I am not an endorser of the DUKAN Diet, but google it….it got me started on my way. Also…do some type of cardio and strength training…cardio at least 30 each day and strength training at least 3 times per week…hope this helps.

This is sooo AMAZING!I am 5’11 and my highest weight was 327. I am currently at 299 pounds. My goal is 170lbs or size 11/12 or a 32 inch waist, whichever seems the healthiest. I often wonder what a woman my height should really weigh and how that weight would look on her. You are a PERFECT example for my goal. Healthier me here I come! You look fabulous! Great job 🙂
