Today’s featured weight loss success story: LaKesha lost 45 pounds by eating clean and exercising.
Hi,my name Is Kesha. I started my weight loss journey August 2012. My little sister Nicole Jones had lost alot of weight, and just seeing how good she look’d and how healthy she was INSPIRED me. She shared with me the tools i needed to lose weight instead of maintaining the weight I had. I’ve changed my eating habits, to “clean eating” & I exercise. In this collage my weight loss is 45 lbs.My journey is far from over, I have 70 more I would like to lose. However, I am excited about my current loss.This is NOT a diet to me, it’s my new way of LIFE. Thank you for allowing me to share ♥

Wow, I’m delighted to have inspired you, that is truly amazing 🙂 If i can do it, trust me, you can too. I do ALOT of baking,boiling and sauteing. I eat alot of fiber, drink lots of water, drink whey protein and i jog and cross train, i hit the gym 5-7 x a wk.I count calories, i keep a journal of everything to drink or eat. I’m greedy so i usually go for things that are filling that are low in calories If u scroll down to my last post u will see a more detailed reply 🙂

Wow, this is such an Honor Black Women Losing Weight!! I don’t know what to say, but Thank You. It’s a very humbling journey,I never thought that while I was on this journey that I would inspire others, as my sister inspired me. However, once you put your mind to it you can do anything. Stay,Focused and NEVER give up! Thank you, again this has MOTIVATED me to keep going ♥
At first I started off going to the track 2-3 I cut out EVERYTHING WHITE,sugar, potatoes,bread etc. I started counting calories/ clean eating. Which is basically, eating at home baking or sauteed ur food, when you eat out their food tends to have more calories, i drink alot of water, i drink a full glass in the mornings before i eat anything, i dont drink juice or soda, as of last week i started drinking Whey Protein, it curves your hunger . Within the first 2 mo the weight started falling off. i would go to the track 2-3 times a wk, and started going around 10 x, then up’d it to 15. Then after i felt like my endurance was up, and my body became used to it, i purchased a gym membership, i go to the gym 5-7 x wkly. Im currently changing it up again, i plan on starting a cross training class at my gym, to help me lose the addition 70lbs i want to lose. As, far as snacks go i eat low calorie snack that are like 70-120 calories, everywhere i go i carry a bottle of water. I hope this helps. I’m happy that u liked my story, u can do it too,sis. Also, go to LIVESTRONG.com they are a great source of info, they can tell you based on your, weight,height,age and your daily activity what your daily calorie should be depending on how much weight u would like to lose per week.

I read these post every day and I am usually like okay….I am happy for these women, that they are meeting their goals and dreams, but still it’s usually like… whatever…It won’t help me…but something about your post got to me and I believe that I can do it…I love how you said exactly what you did and didn’t hide it like it was top secret…If you don’t mind I would like to keep you posted on my progress and thank you so much for the real info and help….and please keep us posted on you….

I sat at work last night and I prayed asking him to give me the strength to keep pushing with my journey talking to him is more of a motivational thing for me . Kesha,sis, God bless you. Thank you for sharing your journey and especially in video form. I usually check this page every so often and congratulate the other sisters on here, all the while sporadically going to the gym (3 weeks on, 2 weeks off whether it be a holiday that gets me off track or getting ready to be in an art show, or most recently the cold weather here in Philly). It’s always something.I’m only 20lbs over my usual weight, but, it’s taking me longer than it should to drop the weight because I’m not consistent. You, your video, told me what my problem is : JUST DO IT. When I’m in my “gym mode”,I go five days a week, eating clean, drinking water like its going out of style, live and sleep in my gym clothing, track my meals, weight lift–evrything is good and the pounds shed…but I always end up getting off track (for whatever reason) and the cycle starts alllll over again…My question to you is this : how do you push your self after (and if) you had a “bad” snack/meal, missed a gym/track session—what do you do to push yourself so that you won’t “relapse”? One more question- in terms of your meals, how often do you eat? I tried the 6 times a day while in gym mode which wasn’t bad, kept me from over eating, but I just wanted to know what works for you?

I set my cell alarm to Gym time, I go either before or after it goes off period, what MOTIVATES me is a pic I took at my biggest. The funny thing is I didn’t know I was that BIG, when I saw this pic I was devastated, gurl i was like who is that! That is what keeps me going, even on a bad day. When I’m at the gym I go HARD AS I CAN GO, I don’t feel like I’ve had a good workout until the sweat is pouring off me, than I feel my stomach to see if it’s cold, if ur stomach is cold that means ur body is in fat burning mode. After, a bad day, I make a promise to myself that tomorrow will be a better day, and I put up a sign your not hungry ur just bored right next to that fat pic, funny thang is even back then couldn’t nobody tell me NOTHING gurl, I knew I was FINE, my goal now is to just be healthy and a comfortable size for my 5’5 height,lol. As far as snacks go I eat alot of fruit or low calorie (50-120) fiber snacks, like skinny cow, nature valley, or yoplait. I read EVEVRYTHING, and I write down everything I eat. I hope this helps sis.
