Weight Loss Success Story of the Day: Jeanette lost 44 pounds. After losing a loved one, she realized that her life was at risk for the same medical issue and that it was time to find a weight loss program and change her lifestyle. Here is what she shared with us…
On August 5, 2013, my 53 year old sister had a stroke and died 10 days later. As I listened to the doctor describe all her risk factors, I realized I had the same risk factors and that I needed to do something about my weight. Before this tragic event happened, in the back of my mind I was thinking about joining Weight Watchers. I had been thinking about this because a previous doctor’s appointment showed me weighing 300 pounds. On August 30,2013, I joined weighing in at 295 pounds. Today, I am down to 251 pounds for a total of 44 pounds gone.
I joined a gym and started doing water aerobics twice a week and worked out on the machines a couple of times a week. I still go to the gym because who knew I would enjoy working out.
I am finding that I do not enjoy the fast food as I used to and would rather cook my own healthy meals. I’d rather pack a lunch than spend money on eating out.
I feel so much better. My arthritic knees do not hurt as much, climbing the stairs is easier. I also look so much better in my clothes!! My advice to others would be to take it one day at a time because there will be ups and downs, but you have to stick with it because it’s a lifestyle change.
