Update: Shout out to Jessica! She lost a total of 100 before her most recent pregnancy. This mom of 2 is 7 months postpartum and getting back to her pre-baby weight.
2014: Weight Loss Story of the Day: Jessica lost 75 pounds. This petite diva gained over 60 pounds during her pregnancy which were still around and giving her the blues 6 months later. I think her story should serve as encouragement to every mom who’s trying to escape the pregnancy weight. Here is what she shared with us…
My name is Jessica and I am 5’1″ tall. I have struggled with my weight my entire adult life. I began my weight loss journey on Thursday, December 13th 2013 at 248 pounds after having gained over 60 lbs from my pregnancy. Throughout my first year post-partum, I was losing and gaining the same 20 lbs over and over. After seeing the photos from my son’s first birthday party, I decided I had enough. I was going to do something about my weight and that has been the best decision of my life.
One year later, I have lost 75 lbs and gained a whole lot of confidence. I still have 53 lbs to go, which may seem like a lot, but I don’t see it that way. I take it one day at a time, pound after pound and workout after workout. People ask me all the time what “diet” I did to lose the weight but I don’t follow any specific plan; I just eat less and make healthier choices of all the foods that I love. I workout a minimum of 5 days a week either teaching Zumba or doing at home Beachbody workout DVDs.
What inspires me to keep going is the pain I remember feeling when someone told me that I looked terrible. They said that I had my baby over 6 months ago and that I should not have let myself go the way that I had. I share my story to inspire others to keep striving to be the best version on themselves.
