Success Story Update: When we featured Kimberly (Instagram: @iwokeupskinny) back in August, she was down 64 pounds. She’s lost 16 more pounds for a total of 80 lbs gone. Kimberly went from a size 18 to a size 6! We asked her to share a little about what she’d done to lose the additional weight…
Hey there! I’ve lost more weight, totaling 80 lbs!! I started doing fasted cardio before work, not just on weekends. I also stopped juicing and ate different meals which kept my body guessing vs the same eating routine all the time. Rest days became a priority, and even on those days I lost or maintained my weight. My original weight loss goal was 75 lbs, but I’m happy to have lost 80 lbs. I’ve gone from a size 18 to a 6!!! To maintain, I still count calories, use my fitness pal, my Polar watch AND my Jawbone. My husband also lost 40 lbs, a combined 120 pounds GONE! His dedication & support helped to keep me focused!
BWLW is awesome!! I’m still motivated by it, so keep up the GREAT work!!
Find out how Kimberly lost the first 64 pounds in the “weight loss story of the day” post we did on her in August 2014.

I lost 79lbs too and truly this has been a life changing journey. I was under 18 with a BMI of 40 and I truly struggled with alot.
My journey has had it’s fair share of challenges. It began on 2018 with a simple change of saying no to sugar and processed stuff and I lost some weight then got into college and yes still I was not sipping sugary drinks but the fried and greasy foods surrounding me I subjected myself to it for some parts of the year but Nov it hit me that I was doing so well but couldn’t stay from fast food if my friends initiates and at home I did not eat anything too high in calories but on Campus it was another story. Thanks to God my Academic year ended mid October and I took it upon myself to stick to my well balanced routine and eating whole foods and early 2020 I weighed myself for the first time(in my journey I avoided the scale last time I weighed was June 2018). I had lost 33lbs in total from June 2018-Feb2020
This inspired me to keep going and this year I lost 46lbs but I switched into FAD diets and unfortunately I also lost essential body nutrients and September -October I slowed down and was mostly in bed, feeling faint and had no energy, I developed anemia and was not even aware until November my family was extremely worried as to why can’t we find answers and a reputable Doc gave me all the answers and am currently on treatment and stopped these Low Carb and FAD diets and sticking to whole foods well balanced approach to food and I gained 5kg when I switched back but lost it easy too without even trying hard. Am back at training and just eating nutrient dense food and taking my treatment which I will be off from April 2021.
When over weight it is great to undergo a healthy journey but a safe and well backed sustainable approach is the best choice. Fast weight loss is never a good thing for many of us. I wish all those under going health/weight loss journey all the best.
