It’s time for our December Challenge! This month we are going to take photo accountability to the next level and focus our goals for 2015. You will need…
- A camera or a cellphone with camera
- A notebook or journal – This will become your food journal/goal setting notebook. You can also record your meals on your computer/tablet if you prefer.
How do I sign up? – Leave a comment below and let us know about your 2015 goals and what healthy eating looks like for you.
Part 1 – Show Your Meals #BWLWDec
We are going to commit to taking photos of everything we eat, including snacks, as a way of really being honest about what we are eating. At the end of each day you will review your photos and keep a log in you food journal. If you miss any photos or don’t want to take photos, you can just keep the journal of all your meals. Tasks:
- Post photos to the social media profiles of your choice daily or at least 3 times a week and Show Your Meals with the group to keep yourself accountable. Use this month’s hashtag: #BWLWDec
- You need to have a clear idea of what foods you want to eat and how much – This will vary for each person.
- Daily or weekly you will do research on a calorie counting site of food logging site, like Myfitnesspal.com and sparkpeople.com, to determine if you are eating too many calories or if you need to cut back on things like sugar or salt. Evaluate what changes you need to make and commit to taking action so that you can get/keep your eating habits on track. Take action!
Ask these 4 questions each day and note the answers in your food journal…
- Did I eat for any reason other than hunger? – i.e. emotions, stress, boredom, etc.
- How did I feel before and after my meals?
- Do I feel good about my food choices today?
- Are there any actions I need to take tomorrow to keep my healthy eating goals on track?
Part 2 – Set Your Goals

Life Style Goals for 2015
What are your goals related to health and wellness in general?
I would like to 75lbs but realistically I will be happy with 50lbs
I would like to see my health grow in leaps in bounds. I am diabetic and the last time I was at the doc my cholesterol was 166 which is okay but it could be better.
I would like to incorporate more colors in my diet.
Find days where I am not focused on not liking how I look in my clothes.
I would like to overcome emotional eating and emotional shopping.
What are 3 steps you need to take to get closer to these goals?
I have begun to incorporate the 80/20 plan. I am working really hard to incorporate more fruits and vegetables in my diet. I normally eat a lot of lentils/beans and I have come to realize that they have a lot of calories and a lot of carbohydrates. So I am limiting them and incorporating them into my diet in different ways to keep the protein and eliminate some of the animal protein. I am going to continue to exercise daily and put more effort into resistance and strength training. I am going to stop over exercising which may have caused some of my weight gain. I am also going to try to plan my meals where I don’t eat any bread/rice after my morning workout. I also plan to revisit my plan and evaluate it from time to time.
What are your weight loss goals?
Loose 50-75 lbs in 18 months.
Loose body fat as well.
What are 3 practical steps you need to take to make these goals a reality?
Plan a variety of meals so I don’t get bored. I have a tendency to eat when I am tired so I am really focusing on not doing that in other words if I get tired I am simply going to go to sleep. I am going to try at least 2 new foods per month. If I get off track with one snack or one meal I am not going to let that take care of the hole day and adapt the well this day is over attitude. GET back on track the very next time I put something in my mouth. Don’t accept lunch dates/eating out only if they are planned.
What are your relationship goals? – Friends and Family
Spend as much quality time with my daughter as I can and go to see my distant relatives in GA. Also share everything I learn health wise with her. Also focus as much as possible on my Mom who is ill and my sisters that are taking care of her.
What actions can you take to make these goals reality?
Call more even if it is just for a few minutes. Try to see if I can get them to use skype.
What are your love relationship goals? Boyfriend, spouse, future relationship…
No love relationship goals.
What actions can you take to make these goals reality?
Nothing not interested at this time would rather just have friends.
What are your career/work and/or business goals?
I am in the process of looking for another job but I am okay financially where I am will just continue to stay there and just focus on more training and development.
What are 3 steps you need to take to get closer to these goals?
Stop working nonstop; physically schedule the training regardless of the work load. Plan my schedule with my supervisor and establishing concrete deadlines projects; limit the number of process action teams I am on.
BusyB223 says
My goal for 2015….

Hello All,
My desire is to be anywhere under 200 pounds. Today that would mean I need to lose 100 pounds. I never thought that my weight would balloon up this far. I feel very uncomfortable carrying this much weight around while I know I have an existing heart condition. My metabolism has come to a shrieking haul due to medicine and menopause. I know the things that will work in my advantage. Now, I am totally free to focus on me and my health. In order for me to become successful in losing 1/2 of my goal, I will have to be determined to stay on track. I will have to use all of the tools that I have been exposed too. I have been through weight watchers many times and I joined online support groups. I know that other people who are working towards the same goals help me to stay on track. I have hired a personal trainer who helps to hold me accountable. As far a a future relationship, I have put that on hold until I am satisfied and comfortable with me. I look forward to working on my goals.

My goals for 2015:
Lose 70 lbs go from 215 to 145 or 150. This year I was blessed to beat a stage one cancer and it was also a wake up call to get my self healthier. I have a five year old and I want to see him grow up. I recently have been having a high blood pressure issue and it is probably from the 38 lbs I gained in this year alone. I did a lot of stress eating and I am done with that lifestyle and feeling sorry for my self. So 2015 is the year of “Getting Right” for me. I think the healthier I become everything else will fall into place and I will be here for my family a lot longer.
