Update Nov 2017: Shout out to Amber. She’s lost 33 more pounds since May for a total of 60 pounds gone.
Now, I’ve lost a total of 60 pounds. I have learned a lot on this journey. I’ve learned a lot about about myself and my eating habits. I’m an emotional eater and I’m learning how to control it. I have maintained my weight loss, but I still have 50 pounds more I want to lose. The advice I would offer to others is take God along with you on your journey and stay focused. – New Instagram @Amber_marie_34_
Amber lost 27 pounds. She’s been working hard since March and isn’t waiting until the end of her journey to celebrate her progress. Prayer, support from her daughters and embracing healthy habits is working for her.
What was your motivation?
I had completely given up on myself. I looked at this before picture and was in tears. I have completed every goal I’ve set for myself, but I couldn’t conquer being overweight.
The night before I had weight loss surgery I changed my mind. My best friend called me and was in tears. She knew what happened to me in 2015 when I died on the operating table and had to be brought back. I never wanted to experience that again. I decided that I wanted to do this for myself and I’m doing it. My daughters also inspired me to keep going and change my life.
How did you change your eating habits?
I stopped eating pasta, bread, unhealthy drinks and fried foods.
What did you do for exercise?
I do cardio 5 days a week.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 260 pounds. I currently weigh 233 pounds and my goal weight is 180 pounds.
When did you start your transformation?
I started March 2017.
What advice would you give to other people who want to lose weight?
My advice is to never give up. If you don’t like what you see in the mirror, change it. Pray and take God with you on the journey. He will give you strength you never knew you had.
This journey is hard. I owe this to myself to try, because in the past I did not try. It’s hard, but it’s going to be worth it in the end. It may take me longer, but with prayer I’ve got this.
